Canon EOS Rebel X 35MM SLR Film Camera with Canon EF Auto Focusing AF Lens

The Canon EOS Rebel XS, also known as the Kiss, is a 35mm SLR film camera equipped with an EF mount Canon lens system and an AF System TTL phase detection. The AF modes include One-Shot AF and AI Servo AF, with an automatic switchover feature. The camera features Multi-BASIS for the AF sensor, allowing for automatic selection of 3 focusing points, with the option to manually select the center focusing point using the AE lock button. The AF operating range at ISO 100 is EV 1.5 – 18.

The camera is equipped with a vertical-travel, focal-plane electronic shutter that ranges from 30 sec. to 1/2000 sec., with a B setting. The X-sync is at 1/90 sec. via the hot shoe. A built-in electronic self-timer with a beeper is also included. The fixed eye-level roof mirror viewfinder offers 0.7x magnification and 90% coverage. The viewfinder displays information such as the Center AF mark, wide AF frame, and partial metering circle.

The metering and exposure control system features Composite SPC for TTL full-aperture metering with various modes such as shutter speed-priority AE, aperture-priority AE, Intelligent program AE, depth-of-field AE, four program AE modes, and metered manual. The exposure compensation range is ±2 EV in 1/2-stop increments, with a metering range of EV 2 – 20 at ISO 100 and f/1.4. The film speed range is from ISO 6 to 6400, with a maximum of 9 multiple exposures.

The external LCD displays information such as shutter speed, aperture setting, film speed, multiple exposure count, red-eye reduction, self-timer display, film status, exposure display, battery check, and other indicators. The built-in flash, located on the pentaprism hump, features TTL autoflash control, off-the-film metering, and a red-eye reduction lamp. The guide number is 12 at ISO 100 in meters.

The camera is powered by two 3V CR123A lithium batteries. It is a versatile and reliable camera suitable for various photography needs.
